Who pays for these services?

PPEC services are covered by Medicaid, once recommended by the Child's physician through a prescription or letter of medical necessity. 

This process is very easy and should not take longer than 30 minutes to begin the start up process. Our staff will provide you with guidance needed in the enrollment process.

Who qualifies for admission?

Infants and children ages ( 0-21 ) with complex medical conditions requiring continual care including but not limited to: 

  • supplemental oxygen

  • ventilator dependence

  • cystic fibroses

  • apnea

  • spinal cord injury

  • malignacy

  • severe asthma

  • diabetes

  • wounds

  • seizures

PPEC stands for Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care. Shining Stars PPEC offers a stimulating, social and nurturing alternative health care choice to families and children with medically-complex conditions to receive continual medical care in a non residential setting.
